Omega-3 fatty acids play a critical role in the human body and regulate various functions in the cardiovascular, pulmonary, immune, nervous1 and endocrine systems.2,3 Since EPA and DHA are not made efficiently by the body, it is recommended that these polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) be consumed at higher levels in the diet. However, a large percentage of the U.S. adult population falls below the recommendations for omega-3 fatty acid consumption.4

Children and teens consumed about 40 mg of DHA and EPA from foods, and adults consumed about 90 mg from foods, representing a small amount of total daily omega-3 intakes.5 Standard Process Tuna Omega-3 Oil and Tuna Omega-3 Chewable help bridge the dietary gap of omega-3 with both DHA and EPA. Q: Is your tuna from the sea and not a farm?
A: Yes, Standard Process's tuna is wild caught.
Tuna is not recommended by to eat because of mercury, so is your product third party tested?
Standard Process’ products are compliant with USP and AHPA standards for heavy metals. Repeated testing on various stages of every batch throughout the manufacturing process enables Standard Process to ensure quality and safety of their products. On average, a batch is tested six times. Every week, Standard Process scientists in their full-scale quality control laboratory perform as many as 1,100 tests on raw materials, in-process product batches, and finished product. Standard Process uses analytical methods that have been approved by nationally recognized evaluative bodies, including the Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

Q: Is this product burpless without fishy taste or smell ?
A: Most people say they get no burps or fishy taste.

Q: Is this Non-GMO?
A: Standard Process is committed to the health-giving properties of whole food nutrition and using ingredients that have not been genetically modified. As part of this commitment, we first source ingredients from our own 420-acre certified organic farm. Certified organic farming does not allow for genetic engineering. More than 80 percent of all raw plant ingredients used to make our products are grown on our farm. When sourcing ingredients we can’t grow on our farm, we are committed to selecting partners who offer ingredients that have not been genetically engineered. We rigorously evaluate all outside vendors and validate the raw ingredients they supply.

Q: Does this supplement comes with vitamin B-12 ?
A: Standard Process provides complete disclosure of all ingredients and significant supplement facts on their label. Tuna Omega-3 Oil does not contain or come with a significant amount of Vitamin B-12.

Q: Is the soy used for Vitamin E certified organic?
A: Standard Process grows many of their ingredients for their products on their organic farm. Other ingredients are purchased. Standard Process does purchase organic when it is available, however, some ingredients are not organic. Standard Process always uses suppliers that they thoroughly audit to ensure Standard Process' quality standards.

Q: What is the glycerine made from?
A: The glycerine is derived from either palm oil or coconut oil depending on what vendor Standard Process uses for the lot.

Q: Does it need to be refrigerated?
A: The Standard Process Tuna Omega-3 Oil does not require refrigeration. Please store in a cool, dark place.

Q: What it for?
A: It provides essential omega-3 fatty acids. These support heart health, skin and hair health, brain health, and normal immune system function.

Q: What color are the softgels?
A: The raw materials that make up supplements can vary in color, thus leading to an overall color change to the finished good. Each of the raw materials used to manufacture this product and the finished good are tested to make sure they meet specifications, regardless of slight color variation which are usually in the amberish range of color.

Q: Are they hard to swallow?
A: Most people say they are easy to swallow. The perles are oval shaped, about 5/8" long and just under a 1/2" thick.
